Expectations and Disappointments with A Brighter Outlook

Dear Expectations,

Less Expectation, More Exploration, And Trust

When expectations rule our lives, we set ourselves up for disappointment. The most important thing to learn is to release expectations about how to think life should go and approach life from a place of exploration. This opens up to experiencing things that are beyond disappointments. It’s okay to have goals but make sure to leave room for something even greater to come along.

Soulmate: Doesn’t Complete You. Soulmate: Inspires You to Complete Yourself.:. Motivate: Yourself

A soulmate isn’t someone who completes you. No, a soulmate is someone who inspires you to complete yourself.

A soulmate is someone who does not judge you for your flaws. A soulmate is someone who sees your jagged edges, who sees the parts of you that have been weathered by love and by life, who sees the wars that you fight, and who chooses to stand beside you. A soulmate is someone who watches as you confront your scars from the inside; always encouraging you to heal on your own time, in your own way; always encouraging you to keep going. What-if’s, Should-have’s, and If-only’s

If I had a Time Machine….

What is your universal truth? What determines the person you honestly are?

The What-if’s, Should-have’s, and If-only’s are everywhere. They plague the mind with skepticism and regret. They tend to enforce false ideas and, hypothetically, failure in one’s self-growth. It’s Okay If You Don’t have All the Answers (You’re Not Supposed To)

Life isn’t supposed to be easy. You don’t reach a certain age, a certain social status, a certain position in your career, and suddenly have all the answers. There isn’t a secret potion, a lucky token, or even a prayer that will change the course of your life with a snap of your fingers.

Inner Beauty

Take a look into my heart,
and you’d think I’m fine.
I am that type.
I cover things so that I don’t look weak,
so that I don’t get hurt.
I am labeled strong and carefree,
with a heart full of confidence,
and my head on straight.
But each day I’m drifting farther and farther from that,
and into a burning pit.
The pain is to deep to see.
If you don’t know what to look for.
I’m dragging you in,
you’d better hold tight and not get lost,
you may not come out if you see the truth.
I’m helpless and unworthy and need someone to help me find my way,
to my own true happiness, that happiness I found in you.
